Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 – The Deck’s Myakmyak Report vol.4
Meet Nacchan
Ms. Natsuko Ishia (aka Nacchan), a former community coordinator and now an ambassador for The DECK, had an exhibition booth at the Future Life Village area of the Osaka/Kansai Expo 2025, showcasing her project. She was scheduled to give a talk on May 15th, so we went to cover her project!
Nacchan will still frequently visit The DECK’s coworking space. She works on her business, holds meetings, or seeks advice at The DECK!
In the picture above, Nacchan is on the left, Fumi is in the center (the current community coordinator), and Nacchan’s younger sister is on the right. The traditional kesa robes look elegant, don’t they?
A Speech on Timeless Communities
At the Expo, Nacchan gave a speech about “old and new forms of community.” This was inspired by her current activities at the temple café, Cha-niwa, which is located on the grounds of Manpuku-ji Temple.
Manpuku-ji Temple is also close to The DECK’s office. The temple sells different matcha products, which tend to be very popular with international visitors!

The picture above is of Nacchan and her friends’ booth. Their booth features a “workation” program, with the theme of Travel X Work. It is conducted in Fujii-no-Sato, Wakayama Prefecture, where visitors can experience agricultural work.
“Workation” Booth from Fujii-no-Sato
The booth sold mandarin oranges from Fujii-no-Sato and original incense sachets, made from the branches of lemon trees!
This is sustainable initiative that adds value to agricultural products—perfectly aligning with the Expo’s theme of a future community model connected by food and farming.
Nacchan is truly an excellent community coordinator, who helped energize the community during her time at The DECK!
Upcoming Talk: Coworking X Co-Creation
On June 19th, I (Fumi), will have the opportunity to speak at the same Future Life Village area of the Osaka/Kansai Expo with the theme: Coworking X Co-Creation.
Click here to register for the event. Participation is free!
The event can be viewed offline—but we’d love for you to come to the Expo and see it in person!
