Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025The DECK’s Myakmyak Report vol.5

From May 12 to 18, 2025, The DECK collaborated on an exhibition in the Future Life Village area at the Osaka/Kansai Expo venue, introducing the impact that Ethereum brings to society through examples from around the world.

■ CEO Morisawa’s Role and The DECK’s Mission

During the event, The DECK’s CEO, Mr. Morisawa, was present at the Expo site, personally explaining the exhibition to visitors.

Why is The DECK, a coworking space operator, involved in an exhibition introducing the social impact of blockchain technology?

The DECK’s slogan is “Make It Happen.” By supporting people who take the first step to make society better through new technologies, products, and services, and by fostering coworking (collaboration and co-creation), we have helped turn ideas into reality.

We focus on creating an environment and building relationships that make it easy for our community members—and everyone involved with The DECK—to experience new technologies and services. Although blockchain is still unfamiliar to many people, we believe it will become a technology that is accessible to everyone. That’s why, through this opportunity, we decided to help showcase its potential.

■ About The Mu and the Focus on Ethereum

This exhibition was organized by The Mu, an international Web3 community. The Mu hosts events related to Web3—technologies utilizing blockchain—primarily in developing cities around the world. This exhibition stemmed from those activities and focused on showcasing real-world applications, particularly highlighting examples of social implementation using Ethereum among the many blockchain technologies available.

■ Exhibition Structure: Three Themed Chapters

The exhibition was divided into three sections, with each section featuring its own themed display.

■ English Translation and Communication with Students

Although preparation time was tight and the English translations felt somewhat like machine translations, it actually seemed to make the content more straightforward and easier to understand for the elementary and junior high school students who visited the venue.

■ Ema Plaques: Expressing Blockchain’s Core Values

In one section of the exhibition, visitors could pick up ema (wooden plaques) that explained one of the core values of blockchain—such as transparency, open source, sovereignty, decentralization, privacy, or trustlessness—and write their own personal thoughts or pledges on them. This corner was filled with messages written in a variety of languages, reflecting a wide range of perspectives.

■ Thread Exhibit: Visualizing Diverse Interests

An exhibit using threads was created as a way to express the differences in interests based on age, background, and region of origin.

■ Student Engagement and the Future of Blockchain

The junior high and high school students also listened with interest. By the time they become adults, blockchain will likely be a much more familiar and commonplace technology.

■ Talk Session in the Exhibition

In the latter part of the exhibition, there was also a talk session.

■ Pride in Showcasing Global Trends in Osaka

We are proud to have been able to introduce these global trends here in our hometown of Osaka.

■ Talk Session Archive and The Mu Community

The archive of the talk session’s live stream is available here:
