Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 The DECK’s Myakmyak Report Vol.8
This is a follow-up blog to Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 The DECK's Myakmyak Report vol.7
Welcome to the 8th edition of our Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai report!
Once again, we’re bringing you a recap of the super popular event planned by The DECK:
"Join The DECK! Osaka-Kansai Expo Tour ③"!
(*Please note: this event has already ended.)
This tour was designed for those who are curious about the Expo but feeling a bit nervous about going alone—The DECK staff accompanies you for a relaxed and fun Expo experience.
Following the huge success of Tours ① and ②, this time we changed things up with an evening Night Tour!
Our theme? "A Journey Through Art and Enchanted Nights."
Young Team GO! Student Interns & Kids Tag Along!
This time, our tour members were a bit unique!
Joining community coordinators Fumi and Tomoe, was an intern all the way from the U.S., Jacob, and Fumi’s son Kou-chan also joined in on the fun.
Fumi was in full “multi-mode,” switching between staff and mom while pushing a stroller—go, Fumi, go!
With our lively "Young Team," we set off in high spirits!
Since it was a night tour, we departed The DECK at 3 PM.
Outside? A scorching hot day with temperatures over 35°C (95°F)!
Just one step outside and we were drenched in sweat—yikes!!
But no worries—The DECK is directly connected to Osaka Metro Chuo Line’s Sakaisuji-Hommachi Station, so we barely had to go outside on our way to Yumeshima (Expo venue). Comfy and easy access!
...Or so we thought, until we arrived at Yumeshima Station and—BOOOOM!—thunder rumbled overhead.
A classic summer afternoon thunderstorm tried to rain on our parade… but we shook it off:
“Rainy Expo? Still fun!”
Off we went on our magical Night Tour adventure!
Soaking Up the Energy at “MUSASHI of the World” Art Exhibition!
The main event this time was a special two-day-only exhibit at Gallery WEST:
"MUSASHI of the World Exhibition"
MUSASHI is a para-artist hailing from Osaka, known for his many collaborations with companies, organizations, artists, and athletes.
This gallery showcased a huge collection of his works all in one place!
We were welcomed by a big bold “武蔵展 (MUSASHI EXHIBITION)” sign at the venue entrance!
Out front? A decked-out supercar and a military vehicle completely wrapped in MUSASHI art—how cool is that?!
Stepping inside, we were immediately surrounded by a whirlwind of creativity, with countless works lining the walls. It felt like stepping into a vortex of energy and imagination.
We were blown away—“Wait, he made all of this himself?!” The variety was incredible.
Each piece radiated its own power, drawing us in with raw energy.
You could say MUSASHI wasn’t just in the art; the art was made of him. It was like being in a space where everyone was connected through MUSASHI’s world.
Inside the exhibit was a live-painted “Billiken-san” statue from the Expo—an iconic Osaka symbol! Gotta be some good luck in that!
To top it all off, MUSASHI himself showed up at the venue!
And get this—he even picked up little Kou-chan for a hug!
(Legend in the making, maybe?!)
Artists, visitors, and community members were all united through this special gathering at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. For MUSASHI, this event is just one more step on his journey toward becoming a truly global artist. We felt so lucky to share in this one-of-a-kind experience!
Twilight Magic: A Sunset to Remember
After soaking in tons of art, we grabbed a quick bite at the food court.
Around 7 PM, as we stepped back outside, we were greeted by a picture-perfect twilight.
The sun dipped below the sea at Yumeshima, painting the sky with dreamy gradients—it was breathtaking.
Wherever you pointed your camera, it turned into a scene straight out of a "coming-of-age" movie.
And then, as night deepened, a gorgeous full moon rose into the sky… it was like something out of a dream.
Into the Night: Exploring the Limited-Time Saudi Arabia Exhibit
Still basking in the evening vibes, next we headed toward the limited-time exhibition hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its tourism bureau:
“Wonders of Arabia!”
The moment we stepped inside, we felt like shouting—“This is Saudi for real!!”
The exhibit design was insanely detailed, with a strong presence that clearly showed how serious they are about promoting Riyadh Expo, the next host city in 2030.
Every part of the exhibition was meticulously crafted for impact.
Needless to say, it was packed with photo-worthy spots—we took pictures galore!
And, of course, we had to capture a shot commemorating our big goal:
“Let’s make our business dreams a reality and go to Riyadh Expo together in five years!!”
Experiencing the Expo by night showed us a whole new world of beauty and wonder.
The DECK’s Night Tour became an unforgettable memory!
The Osaka-Kansai Expo continues through October, so plenty more fun to come.
Stay tuned for our next report!
