Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025The DECK's Myakmyak Report vol.1

-The DECK's relationship with the EXPO and Yumeshima and Eastgate

You may ask, “Why is a coworking space covering the Expo?” ...... has five reasons!

We are here to tell you about the affinity between Osaka/Kansai Expo 2025 and The DECK, along with a little bit of passionate Myakmyak.

【1】Direct access to the EXPO!

The DECK is a coworking space directly connected to Sakaisuji Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. Direct access to Yumeshima, the Expo site!

In other words, you can naturally do a little work at The DECK and then dive straight into the Expo! You can do it naturally. This alone makes The DECK the best location for your Expo coverage!

【2】Diversity x Global x Manufacturing = The DECK

The DECK is a coworking space where people with a variety of values can meet based on the three core values of “community, globalization, and monozukuri.

We welcome digital nomads, startups, and visitors from overseas, and we work with people from various countries every day.

We are working and communicating so that people will think of “The DECK as a global coworking space” in the same way that “Osaka is famous for takoyaki”!

【3】Overseas entrepreneurs are welcome! A Global Perspective

At The DECK, we focus on supporting foreign entrepreneurs. All of our staff members can speak English, and we hold monthly MEETUP events to promote cross-cultural understanding.

In other words, we are a vibrant “crossroads of cross-border innovation. We, as such, cannot afford to miss the Osaka-Kansai Expo, where countries from all over the world will gather! That is why

Through this report, we would like to delve into the Expo as seen by people from overseas, the appeal of Japan, and the technology that originated in Japan.

We are also planning a tour of the Expo with the overseas entrepreneurs who have moved into The DECK.

【4】Actually...we also work behind the scenes at the Expo!

Although it is not well known, The DECK's manufacturing division (a.k.a. The DECK FAB) is also involved in the production of several pavilions.

The DECK FAB has been involved in the production of several pavilions, including the display fixtures and decorative parts. grinned the on-site staff who were involved in supporting the production.

In this sense, we want to do our best to deliver the charm of the Expo, both from the front and from the back! That's what we want to do.

【5】We want to convey the latest x most advanced sites in real time!

The Osaka-Kansai Expo is a treasure trove of cutting-edge technology and ideas. We wanted a place to deliver the atmosphere of such a place quickly, realistically, and with high tension.

That's why we have decided to publish a series of “real reports from the coworking perspective” as The DECK's official blog!

For this reason, we, the team of The DECK, have been in the middle of Expo '70 in Kansai, Osaka, Japan!

Now, in this first installment, we bring you “How to leave The DECK and move to Yumeshima”.

Please read to the end.

■From The DECK (Sakaisuji Honmachi Station) to the Expo site (Yumeshima: East Gate)

Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 has finally begun!

This time, we decided to try a slightly different kind of adventure: touring the Expo while coworking.

From The DECK to the East Gate of Yumeshima Expo site is just one train ride on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line, which takes 23 minutes. It takes only 23 minutes.

Trivia: Yumeshima is reclaimed land and part of the Osaka Port Area. It is a hot spot where casinos and IR (Integrated Resort) are scheduled to be built in the future.

■We went for a 10:00 a.m. reservation on April 23 (weekday).

It rained in the morning and was cloudy during the day. Nevertheless, there was a huge line at the gate.

Those who purchased passes and made reservations online need to complete “facial recognition” registration.

Once you have completed the facial recognition, you will be issued a QR code, which you scan when you pass through the gate.

Before that, there is a baggage check. Just like at the airport, drinks, precious metals, PCs, tablets, and smartphones are checked out of your bag.

Since this takes time, there was a long line.

■To make the waiting time more enjoyable

We focused on the food and beverage vending machine located just outside the Yumeshima Station ticket gate!

It was a good idea to get a Myakmyak donut and a café latte from this machine before getting in line.

We were able to spend the waiting time happily and deliciously.

There is no roof in front of the gate, so I thought people might get heat stroke in the summer.

Be sure to take sun protection.

Sunscreen, parasol, hat, sunglasses, handheld fan, towel, tea and other fluids are a must.

■We've arrived at the Expo site! Let's finally go in!

We've finally arrived at the East Gate of Yumeshima! The “East Gate” of Yumeshima!

This is one of the main entrances to Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, and the flow of people is heavy. Nevertheless, entry was surprisingly smooth.

There is an information center and smart lockers around the East Gate, designed to be friendly to tourists.

Incidentally, there are many 5G-compatible areas inside the venue, making it comfortable to walk around with a smartphone in hand. As one would expect from a futuristic city, it feels like a city of the future!

The following article describes the spot and my impressions of the actual tethering and PC work.

If you dare to work at the Osaka/Kansai Expo site, check it out.
